We Can Do Hard Things
Lows, perspective, and how to keep going.
Meet Emily Greenberg
Everyone faces moments when the lows feel impossible. When doubt, exhaustion, or setbacks cloud the bigger picture. For Emily Greenberg, those lows included an extremely difficult postpartum experience that left her feeling isolated. Out of that struggle, she built Joy Parenting Club, a platform now serving over 50,000 families and backed by a $10M seed round and a Series A just closed. Emily’s story is a reminder that resilience and grit aren’t about avoiding hardship, they are about turning the hardest chapters into momentum for what comes next. Challenges are always part of the story, but they are only part of the story.

Emily Greenberg, co-founder of Joy Parenting Club, turned one of the hardest chapters of her life into a business serving 50,000 families. After a traumatic birth and postpartum challenges, she saw how isolating parenthood can be without real-time support. That experience became the spark for Joy, a platform offering 24/7 access to parent coaches and experts that just closed its Series A.

🌑 The Bottom Feels Scary
Emily’s vulnerable Linkedin post is what made me initially reach out. She opened up and shared her raw, real story about the depths of her challenging postpartum experience and why it led to creating Joy. She dove into it further during our interview.
“I remember seeing a new therapist at the time… I was just in the lows of all the lows. And I remember saying… I don’t see myself in him. I don’t see a connection to him and I think that even was like upsetting at the time.”
Emily’s brave authenticity resonated with many. These are the stories that need to be shared. The ones that help others understand, feel less alone. Feel inspired that if she could come through the other end of something so challenging and go forward to an incredible journey from there, so can they. This is the precisely the powerful force I wish to harness through creating SAYge Link. (you sign up for our beta here)
🧭 Choose Hard Things Anyway
The hardest decisions rarely feel comfortable in the moment, yet they’re the ones that expand our capacity. Emily reminds us that resilience isn’t about chasing perfection but about moving forward, even when the unknown feels daunting. She shares how she historically was a play-it-safer, but the more she moved beyond her comfort zone, the more she proved to herself that she could.
“I think [the advice] I would tell myself is - You can do hard things. And if you don’t, you’re actually doing yourself a disservice… You are good and you hold value in the roles you put yourself in.”
🌱 Challenges are Never Static
Hearing the journeys of others gave Emily the perspective she needed to keep going. Her words capture the power of remembering that today’s lowest point can become tomorrow’s wisdom.
“If you are someone who’s listening who’s in this moment it is—whoo—I’m with ya, it’s hard… Whatever you’re feeling is right at the moment and it will change. It just will.”
Whether in motherhood of founderhood, this is a constant truth. Setbacks are often temporary and survival depends on remembering they are always part of the story. 🌱
